     Republic of Singapore Navy Museum

The museum showcases the history, tradition, customs and development of the Republic of Singapore Navy, from its beginnings as the Straits Settlement Royal Navy Volunteer Reserves in 1934 to the present day. Some of the highlights include tracing the increased sophistication of shipboarding and combat systems used by the Navy since its inception.

Opened in 1987, the museum is housed in a pre-World War II building that was used as quarters and barracks by the Royal Navy, when their ships were in Singapore. To enhance the visitor's experience, the building was renovated to resemble the interior of a ship, incorporating narrow walkways and passages, with portholes along the walls.
