  The High Court yesterday granted the application for beleaguered Fort Canning Country Club (FCCC) and its parent company Alliance Technology and Development to be placed under judicial management, to prevent creditors from scrambling for their assets. Alliance has chalked up S$115 million in debts. FCCC has more than 3,000 members and has been incurring losses since it opened for membership in 1995. It is the second proprietary club after Pinetree Town and Country Club to face financial woes. (Straits Times 6 Apr 2002) (S11)

  HL Bank will make a formal offer to provide a S$72 million loan to fund the bid by members of Pinetree Town and Country Club to buy the debt-laden club from its financially-embattled proprietor. (Straits Times 16 Feb 2002)(6)

  OCBC has appointed Andersen to sell the Pinetree Town and Country Club and its assets, which have an estimated value of slightly more than S$100 million, because the bank wants to recover its money. The fate of the club in Stevens Road hangs in the balance because Pinetree Resort, the sole owner of the club, owes OCBC Bank S$38 million and Hong Leong Singapore Finance S$72 million.   SAFRA will build a new 18-hole golf course in the Kranji area and a S$30 million clubhouse in Telok Blangah. The proposed golf course will be designed to be environmentally- friendly and integrate with the existing landscape, said DPM Tony TAN on 19 Apr 2001. SAFRA will also be building a new 6-storey townclub near Shenton Way. (Straits Times 20 Apr 2001)
