Release of 1st quarter 2008 real estate statistics

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) released today (25 Apr 2008) the real estate statistics for the 1st Quarter 2008.

Proposed liposuction regulatory regime

The Ministry of Health has formulated its draft regulatory regime pertaining to liposuction. In the proposal, MOH will regulate liposuction as a special care service under the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act.

New general hospital in Jurong East to open by 2015

MOH is working with URA to develop a new general hospital to serve Singaporeans living in the Western region (see Annex A for site boundary). The site is located in Jurong East, within walking distance from Jurong East MRT Interchange and Jurong East Bus Interchange. It is also accessible by road from Pan Island Expressway (PIE) and Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE).

CAAS and Certis CISCO sign first Master Security Services Contract

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) and Certis CISCO today signed a Master Security Services (MSS) contract for the provision of security services at Singapore Changi Airport, Seletar Airport, Changi Airfreight Centre and Singapore Air Traffic Control Centre.

10% Energy Challenge Lucky Draw for households

Electronic invoices for Government from 1 May 2008

From 1 May 2008, all suppliers billing the Government will need to submit their invoices electronically. The e-Invoice system is another initiative of the Integrated Government 2010 (iGov2010) Masterplan which seeks to extend the reach and quality of Government e-services.

Bus and train fare evaders to be fined from 1 July 2008

From 1 July 2008, the penalty fee regulations to deter fare evasion on basic bus and train services will come into effect. Fare evaders who are caught for deliberately not paying or under- paying the correct fares when travelling on basic bus or train services will be required to pay a penalty fee of S20 Any misuse of concession cards (e.g. for students, NS-men) will face a penalty fee of $50.
