SIGGRAPH Singapore will be presenting the Comgraph 2004 Animation Screening at Guinness Theatre on 16 & 17 Jan 2004 from 7.30pm to 9pm.

The event is co-organized by Siggraph Singapore (Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics) and The Substation’s Moving Images Program, with support from Singapore Film Commission.

ComGraph 2004 Animation Screening is the preview event to open the annual digital media competition ComGraph 2004 - 5^th Asia Pacific Digital Art and Animation Competition.

The two-day screening will feature a collection of 24 award-winning animation works from the prestigious SIGGRAPH 2003 Electronic Theater.

The works showcase the year's finest computer graphics work for film, video and computer entertainment and were selected from a voluminous 635 international submissions based on extremely high standards of creative and technical excellence. 

The program for ComGraph 2004 Animation Screening includes 2002 Academy Award Winner for Best Animated Short "The ChubbChubbs!" by Sony Pictures Imageworks; ComGraph 2003 Digital Animation Gold Award Winner “Show & Tell” by Kapow Pictures and highly commended piece “Polar Bears Gary's Fall" by Passion Pictures.

"The ComGraph 2004 Animation Screening is a highly anticipated showcase that documents interactive techniques and the unlimited creative potential of computer graphics,” said Dr Seah Hock Soon, Chairman of SIGGRAPH Singapore. “We hope that animation enthusiasts will be inspired by the screening to create and enter original works for the ComGraph 2004 Digital Art and Animation Competition.” 

Admission to the ComGraph 2004 Animation Screening is free and open to all. It will be screened at Guinness Theatre at The Substation (45 Armenian Street, Tel: 6337 7800).
