Critically
acclaimed works by award-winning companies from Europe, North and South America,
Australia and Asia will unveil the best in drama, music, visual theatre, and
comedy for children, puppetry, circus, and story telling at the next Prudential
Children First! Singapore International Festival for Children in 2004.
|
|
During
its three-week run from 3 - 21 Mar 2004, this prestigious international festival
for children will transform this bustling city into an arts arena
with some of the liveliest, most absorbing, intelligent and highly
acclaimed works in Children’s Theatre.
|
|
Now
in its fifth successful year with the continued support of Prudential Assurance
Co Singapore as its main and title sponsor, the festival - which engages
strictly quality and proven works - has pumped up the rhythm, emotion, movement
and colour. |
|
In
total, there will be over 100 performances by nine professional theatre
companies for young audiences over the 21-day period.
The variety and range of productions will delight everyone.
|
|
Sleek
and superior, each performance carries its own cultural influences and artistic
aspirations.
Filled with explosive imagination, charged with poetic and emotive
moments, the colourful portrayals and innovative expressions will marvel
audiences. |
|
Theatre,
being the powerful tool that it is, helps children gain and understand new
emotional experiences and express feelings of joy and wonder. Their imagination
too is gently coaxed, and then stretched to accommodate larger-than-life
possibilities, promising limitless fun! |
