Orchard Jam featuring Electrico & Ronin

Source: Arts For Us All (AFUA)

Orchard Jam is a busking festival right in the heart of town, scheduled to take place on three weekends starting in late November.

It is a fund-raising event that also showcases the myriad of talents of Singaporean youth volunteers!

This busking festival promises to be a breath of fresh air, with a range of performances from different genres taking place simultaneously, only a short stroll away from each other on the busiest stretch of Orchard Road.

Bringing entertainment to every shopper from Paragon to The Heeren shops, Orchard Jam is set to be an enriching, sparkling and most importantly, fun event for everyone.

Orchard Jam will present performing groups from various institutions like ACJC, SRJC, PJC, Riverside Secondary etc. The festival will also present more than 40 youth music bands, dance groups, interactive drama groups and magicians.

Orchard Jam will also be a visual spectacle with graffiti crews grafting on 6 ft by 12-ft wide boards at each busking site!

Featured Bands:

Electrico

Source: Electrico

Rock n’ roll band Electrico consists of guitarist Daniel Sassoon, lead vocalist and guitarist David Tan, bassist Desmond Goh, keyboardist Amanda Ling and drummer William Lim Jr.

Their debut album “So Much More Inside” was released by Universal Music in Singapore and Australia in August 2004, and is poised for wider South East Asian release in early 2005. Produced by Leonard Soosay and mastered by world renowned mastering engineer Stephen Marcussen, the album boasts aurally stunning production.

It’s a complete, textured album with great songs that flow seamlessly and no filler moments. The infectious groovy power pop of the first single "I Want You" also went to Number One on the Perfect 10 98.7 fm charts and was the first local song to crack the Top 10 of the Power 98 charts. Current single “Runaway” is on high rotation on Perfect 10, Power 98 and Class 95fm, and the music video is airing throughout MTV Asia.

Electrico have played extensively throughout Singapore and have recently returned from a successful 2-week tour in Australia. Most recently, the band has been nominated for “Favourite Artist Singapore” in the MTV Asia Awards 2005 which will be held in Bangkok in February 2005.

For the Orchard Jam, Electrico will be performing at the Youth Park as a special guest on December 3rd at 9pm.
