From 20 May 2004, road users can enjoy the convenience of renewing their vehicle road tax at strategically located post offices throughout Singapore.

Singapore Post Limited (SingPost) and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will introduce the road tax renewal service at 42 selected post offices (see Annex 1).

Customers simply need to bring along their renewal notice, the required payment and relevant documents such as the Certificate of Insurance and Inspection Certificate. Payment can be made via cash, cheque (payable to `Singapore Post Limited') or NETS.

Besides these 42 post offices, motorists can also renew their road tax through the Internet using the Road Tax Online (ROTAX) service on the One.Motoring website, by post or GIRO, in person at the LTA payment counters or at one of the many road tax collection centres around Singapore.

SingPost's director for sales and marketing, Ms Lynette Koh, said: "This service has been frequently requested by our customers at the Post Office. We are pleased to be able to meet our customers' needs to launch the road tax renewal service at our post offices. We will continually work with more valued partners so that we can provide the most comprehensive one-stop convenience to the 22 million customer visits at our extensive network of post offices. Our post office customer service officers are stable, experienced and well-trained. They are well-liked by and familiar to our customers. This unparalleled human factor is complemented by a robust infrastructural system for high reliability and efficiency."

Mr Yeo Teck Guan, LTA's Senior Manager for Vehicle Services, said: "LTA is pleased to work with SingPost to provide this new service for vehicle owners. This partnership will help us improve customer service by providing an additional channel to renew road tax, over and above the counter services and online renewal."

Road tax renewal is the latest addition to SingPost's comprehensive range of agency services on behalf of third parties, including offerings beyond the scope of traditional postal services. With its excellent infrastructure and efficient service, SingPost offers customers one-stop convenience via its extensive islandwide network of post offices.
