Aspirations is an evening of five dance works by five established and up-and-coming choreographers. They include Cultural Medallion recipient, Lim Fei Shen and Young Artist Award recipient, Jamaludin Jalil. Together with another member of the faculty, Gillian Tan, they will be giving their take on a variety of themes.

Tyranny of Beauty examines the physical suffering that seems inescapable in the definition of a woman, while "What price conformity? At what cost identity?" are the questions asked in S.W.A.N.S., a light-hearted piece on a serious topic. Inspired by Hector Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5, Voices Within explores the suppressed emotions that seem to confine us. Silkworm and Qing Guo Qing Chen are two alumni pieces that have been chosen to complement the programme as a showcase of student’s work.
