     - Writer Gopal Baratham dies of pneumonia

 

  Prominent neurosurgeon and writer Gopal Baratham died of pneumonia at Mount Elizabeth Hospital yesterday afternoon. Dr Baratham, 66, had been in hospital for about a month for pneumonia and heart problems. He had had open-heart surgery in 1989. He leaves three sons from his previous marriage. A fourth son died more than ten years ago. (Straits Times 24 Apr 2002) (4)
